Quality Management System Co-op
Boston Metal is pioneering a revolutionary extractive metallurgy technology aimed at transforming the primary metals production industry. Our technology not only reduces costs but also minimizes the environmental footprint. As we navigate through this rapid growth phase, we are looking for an experienced Quality Management System (QMS) Co-op to join and enrich our vibrant team.
As part of the Quality Group, you'll play a key role in documenting and visualizing our business processes. Your focus will be on capturing and organizing documentation, as well as creating clear, impactful visuals that communicate quality standards and processes across the organization.
In this co-op role, you'll directly contribute to the clarity and accessibility of our Quality Management System (QMS) by developing process, flowcharts and visual aids that enhance understanding and alignment with ISO standards. This hands-on experience in quality documentation and visual communication will be essential as we scale and refine our quality control framework, helping drive product quality and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the QMS to achieve ISO 9001 certification.
- Develop and organize quality documents, ensuring clarity and visual accessibility.
- Maintain accurate and secure document retention to support traceability and compliance.
- Standardize document templates and forms to establish consistency across the QMS.
Required Qualifications
- Candidate must be a junior/ senior student, pursuing a BS in a technical field or IT.
- Effective communication skills, both technically and collaboratively within a team setting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a group.
- Proficient in presenting technical information clearly and comprehensively.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- The candidate must be 18 years or older.
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator or Express.
- Experience with data analytics tools.
- Experience in Material Science highly regarded.
- Experience with Process Development a huge plus.
Physical Demands
- The employee must be able to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as required by the specific work activity which may include: N95 mask or respirator; various types of gloves/hand protection; safety shoes; head protection; and protective clothing.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
- The employee is occasionally required to stoop or crouch.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee has potential for exposure to hazardous chemicals and/or hazardous waste, and occasional exposure to moving equipment, the risks of which are minimized through compliance with established use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety policies and procedures. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
